Hey guys , Im back with a few tips and tricks on how to style your chokers!
Most of you might think that the Choker trend evolved from the 90's , however they evoke more than the 90's.
They cycled in and out of style during most centuries in the west. " chokers used to serve explicitly materials or protective roles". After the french revolution women started to tie red ribbons around their necks in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
Prostitutes were identifying themselves according to the black ribbon.
Queen Victoria wore the choker style in her old age as well. Including her daughter Alexandra, Princess of Wales, reportedly wore thick rows of pearls and velvet to cover a scar on her neck which made her self-conscious. She was influential in expanding the trend.
I find it very interesting how we adopt fashion trends now from centuries ago!
1- Be bold when it comes to off-shoulder tops.

I find it the easiest to pair a choker with an off the shoulder top , as it emphasizes the neck and makes the whole look very bold. So here I paired a bulky choker necklace by Jarra ( Follow them on Instagram ) with a black simple off the shoulder top.

Also here I styled an off the shoulder top with a gemstone choker.
2- Colour co-ordinate

Why be simple when you can color co-ordinate and end up looking like a disco ball. Here I am with my Silver plain top and I styled it with a silver choker. Also with a collar / crew neckline top , keep it simple and bold.

3- Pair the v-neck with a T - choker .

With the 90's style off the shoulder v-neck style , or just a plain v-neck , try and pair it with a long chained pendant to give you a simple yet cute look.

4- Pair shiny with shiny

Believe it or not , the top and the choker did not come together. For a party going out look , you can pair a shiny choker with a shiny top , however be careful that they don't clash. A black shimmery top can go very well with a shiny choker as well.

5- With plain , one colored tops , pair a choker with a longer necklace .

With a basic , plain top you can start accessorizing hard and layering.
6- Or go very bold and big.

I paired a very basic , crew neck sweater with a bold , tie at the back choker with a bold pendant.

Last bunch of tips
- With off the shoulder tops and v necks , try to have your hair up , as it emphasizes the choker more.
- Pair simple , small earrings with big bold chokers.
